This Sheep Could Be yours
Every sweater comes with its own
sheep adoptee. A sheep
that lives on the same New Zealand farm where the wool used to make
the sweater came
from. We track the sheep’s goings on through an RFID tag in its ear.
And keep you up
to date on its general life events. From its whereabouts, to when
it’s been shorn,
to when it’s had lambs. To see where your sheep is at all times,
simply tap the
trackable NFC tag in the sweater hem with your phone.
About the Sweater.
Designed by Alexander Lewis in a limited run of 250
uniquely numbered pieces. Inspired by natural wonders
Antelope Canyon and Iguazu Falls, each sweater has a
unique dégradé effect created using eco dyes. 100% of
profit from the Reconnection series will go to conservation
work in Alexander’s home country of Brazil.
“The inspiration for this series came from the core beliefs of Sheep Inc. and exploring how to make them come alive creatively. I love that when you buy the sweater you also adopt a sheep. This gives you an immediate connection to the source of the wool. An immediate connection to the ecology, wildlife and ecosystem that makes the sweater possible.”

Care Guide
Merino wool can look after itself. It’s spent a good few evolutionary
cycles learning how.
This means your sweater will resist stains, wrinkles and odours. From time to time it may need to take a breather for an hour or so. Hang it up outside. Or lay it down flat on your bed.
If the day comes when your sweater needs a wash, we recommend washing it by hand to best maintain its form and feel. We also recommend giving it the occasional groom with a fabric shaver. To get that new again feeling.

Middlehurst station
Your sheep adoptee will be from Middlehurst station. A beautiful,
biodiverse sheep Station covering 16,550 hectares in the Upper
Awatere
Valley on New Zealand’s South Island.
Middlehurst Station extends right to the top of the rugged Inland Kaikoura mountain range. And the rich biodiverse property ranges in altitude from 550 meters to 2,500 meters. Middlehurst’s owners, Willie and Susan Macdonald, moved in with their four kids over 20 years ago. It’s the ideal place to raise a family. And their Merino sheep. All 11,000 of them. Of which yours could be one. The Macdonald’s aim is to establish a sustainable, productive family farming business. And making sure high-country traditions are maintained and passed on. And most importantly, to continue to raise the bar of how a sustainable and modern farm can function and run.
